Dr. Judy Kjelstrom
California native! Born in San Francisco, raised in Napa and settled in Sacramento. I am passionate about science and technology. I have a rich background in health science and biotechnology education and training, clinical laboratory science, microbiology and immunology and program administration. I currently direct the UC Davis Biotechnology Program (www.biotech.udavis.edu), a special research program in the Office of Research and the Advanced Degree Program for corporate employees. I am the program coordinator for our NIH T32 Graduate Training Program in Biomolecular Technology as well as the innovative Designated Emphasis in Biotechnology graduate program (www.deb.ucdavis.edu). I am deeply committed to STEM education at all levels so that the tech workforce pipeline is seamless. One of my favorite efforts is serving on the Executive Board of Directors for the Powerhouse Science Center as well as being part of the Women4Science organization.
