Dr. June Williams Colman was blessed in Galveston, Texas in 1963. Her father worked as a burn up specialist at the Shriners Medical center for Kids Galveston Burn Hospital. Her mother was a health professional. Dr. Colman lived in Galveston until freshman high institution when her mother and father separated and she moved with her mom to Houston.

Dr. June Colman majored in the field of biology at Fisk University in Nashville, The state of Tennessee and managed to graduate in 1985. Like many candidates, she was not approved into medical school in her first year of program but she remained identified to reach her goal of becoming a doctor. She became a specialist at Baylor College of Medicine while she reapplied to professional medical schools. In 1987 she started at Me-harry College of Medicine. She accomplished her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology in at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston. She was the first Born on the Island (BOI) indigenous to become a resident there.
