Dr. Kieran A. Slevin is an interventional spine specialist and visionary physician serving the New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Delaware regions. As the co-founder and CEO of a leading multi-specialty healthcare practice, he has significantly impacted the medical field. He is board-certified in anesthesiology and pain medicine, exemplifying his extensive expertise and dedication. His affiliations include the Pennsylvania Medical Society, the Medical Society of New Jersey, and the American Society of Anesthesiologists. He is also an active member of the Spine Intervention Society, reflecting his commitment to advancing spine care. In addition to his professional endeavors, he is deeply involved in supporting various vital causes. Outside of his work and charitable efforts, he enjoys cooking, running, sports, and traveling. Originally from Donegal, Ireland, he now resides in Bucks County.
Dr. Slevin's academic journey began at University College Dublin in Ireland, where he completed his medical degree. He then furthered his education at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine, where he completed a residency in Anesthesiology and Critical Care and a fellowship in Interventional Spine and Pain Medicine between 2000 and 2006. Significant contributions marked his time at Penn as he served as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Anesthesiology and Critical Care. He was also the Assistant Director of Acute Pain Services across the University of Pennsylvania Health System and the Assistant Director of the Interventional Pain and Spine fellowship program. His leadership skills flourished during this period, earning him a place on the Penn Senate Faculty Executive Committee and the University Council, where he advised the Provost and President on critical issues, including faculty IP ownership and the university's endowment management during the 2008 financial crisis.
In 2014, Dr. Kieran Slevin founded North American Spine and Pain, which has grown to employ over 120 staff members across three states. This team sees over 150,000 patients annually and provides specialized care for a range of conditions, including degenerative and herniated discs, extremity pain, nerve injuries, osteoarthritis, sciatica, spinal stenosis, sports-related trauma, sprains, strains, and tendinitis. The practice is committed to setting the gold standard of care in Pennsylvania and surrounding areas, reflecting his vision of excellence in patient care.
