Dr Larry Fishman
Dr. Larry Fishman has served as a private practice neurological surgeon in Brandon, Florida, for the past two decades. Graduating with a B.A. from the University of California, Berkeley, in 1974, Dr. Larry Fishman pursued medical studies at Universidad Autonoma de Guadalajara. After earning his M.D. in 1979, Dr. Larry Fishman completed the Fifth Pathway Certificate program. The program is designed for students who have studied at medical schools abroad, allowing them to complete supervised clinical work at a U.S. medical school and enter residency training. From 1980 to 1982, Dr. Larry Fishman studied neurological surgery at the Mayo School of Graduate Medical Education in Rochester, Minnesota. Dr. Larry Fishman subsequently completed a five-year residency at the Mayo Foundation for Medical Education and Research. Dr. Larry Fishman completed an additional residency in neurological surgery at the Medical College of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia from 1985 to 1988. During his residency, Dr. Larry Fishman gave a presentation, “Correlative Neuroimaging of Superior Sagittal Sinus Thrombosis,” at The American Society of Neuroimaging’s 10th Annual Meeting. Actively involved in his profession, Dr. Larry Fishman has maintained professional affiliations with South Florida hospitals and medical institutions for the past 20 years. In 1991, Dr. Larry Fishman joined Brandon Regional Hospital as Director of Neurological Surgery. He most recently served as the hospital`s Chairman of the Department of Surgery. In addition, Dr. Larry Fishman served as an Assistant Clinical Professor at the University of South Florida College of Medicine. Dr. Larry Fishman currently maintains privileges at Tampa General Hospital, Brandon Regional Hospital, South Bay Hospital, South Florida Baptist Hospital, and Memorial Hospital of Tampa. Dr. Larry Fishman belongs to numerous professional organizations, including the Florida Medical Association, Florida Society of Neurology, Hillsborough County Medical Association, and the Congress of Neurological Surgeons.
