Dr. Lisa Lombard is a licensed clinical psychologist with over twenty years of experience providing psychological services to children, families, and adults. She received her B.A. in Behavioral Sciences and her Ph.D. in Psychology/Human Development from the University of Chicago. She completed her externship training at Michael Reese Hospital and an APA-approved internship at the Illinois State Psychiatric Institute in Chicago.

She has provided psychotherapy and psychological evaluations in a variety of settings, including inpatient units and outpatient clinics, a community mental health center, and a university-based outpatient clinic. She has supervised graduate psychology students in these programs, and continues to be a site supervisor for diagnostic and psychotherapy trainees in her position as a psychological consultant to an independent elementary school in Chicago.
She has also been an Associate Professor at the Chicago School of Professional Psychology (Child and Adolescent Track, Clinical Psychology). There she developed and taught courses on psychological evaluation (cognitive processes, personality and psychopathology, executive functioning, etc.), psychotherapy, and the uses of pediatric hypnosis.

Dr. Lombard’s research and publication record includes several years as a member of Erika Fromm’s Self Hypnosis Lab at the University of Chicago, and more recently, exploratory investigations of school readiness and resiliency factors in preschool-age children. A particular interest in mindfulness-based practices and self-regulation in young children is part of her consultation work at the Frances Xavier Warde Schools in Chicago. In her clinical work, she integrates mindfulness, pediatric hypnosis, and psychotherapy to help children and adults with self-regulation problems, anxiety, and pain management. She works with children and families coping with chronic health conditions such as Functional Abdominal Pain (FAP), headaches, IBS, and food allergies/asthma. She is a faculty member of the National Pediatric Hypnosis Training Institute (NPHTI) and is an Approved Consultant in hypnosis by the American Society for Clinical Hypnosis (ASCH).
