Dr. Mark McKenna

Dr. Mark McKenna, MD, MBA is a doctor, passionate patient advocate, and dedicated community servant. He is a licensed Medical Doctor in Surgery and Medicine by the Louisiana State Board of Medical Examiners and the Georgia State Board of Medical Examiners. Originally from New Orleans, he is a graduate of Tulane University Medical School and began practicing medicine with his father while simultaneously launching McKenna Venture Investments, a real-estate development firm. Over time, McKenna’s entrepreneurial interests shifted more towards his real estate firm, where he focused exclusively on his company, which he grew significantly. Over time, McKenna eventually went on to acquire and launch Universal Mortgage Lending and Uptown Title, Inc. – a company with over 55 employees that offered services such as designing/building residential real estate, mortgage financing, and title closing.

On August 29, 2005 – Hurricane Katrina wrecked most of New Orleans and much of McKenna’s business interests in the process. His employees were scattered throughout the country and his properties were ruined, spelling the end of the first company that McKenna built. Nonetheless, Dr. Mark McKenna stayed to participate in the relief efforts following the disaster, where he helped rebuild the city through the development of low-moderate income housing.

In November of 2007, McKenna relocated to Atlanta, BA where he launched his company Shape Medical Wellness Center (ShapeMed), which focused on providing comprehensive weight loss solutions and cutting-edge NSA (Non-Surgical Aesthetic) procedures. On November 2014, ShapeMed was sold to Life Time Fitness Inc., where Dr. McKenna shifted his role into the National Medical Director for Life Time Fitness Inc. for the next two years.

On July 2017, Dr. Mark McKenna launched his next initiative, where he founded OVME – a consumer-facing, technology backed, medical aesthetics company focused on reshaping elective healthcare. Through OVME, McKenna looks to create a platform that connects men and women with skilled health care providers in cities around the U.S. by delivering quality, minimally invasive cosmetic services. Today, Dr. Mark Mckenna is the CEO/Founder of OVME and he is working to expand the company’s services around the U.S.
