With a medical degree and an MBA specializing in health services and policy research from Stanford University School of Medicine, Dr. Michael Scahill is an experienced pediatrician and business consultant in Silicon Valley. Upon earning his MD, Dr. Michael Scahill completed residency at the University of California-San Francisco's highly selective Pediatric Leadership for the Underserved program. His scholarly project while there was to design and train staff to implement the pediatric service line of Jacaranda Health, a social enterprise delivering affordable, accessible, high quality mother-baby care to the slums around Nairobi, Kenya.
Dr. Michael Scahill later worked as a business consultant to the University of California-San Francisco's Benioff Children's Hospital. He was brought in to modernize administrative functions by developing and implementing software solutions through his skills in Python software and web development. He has worked as a clinical instructor at Lucile Packard Children's Hospital since 2015. During that time, he provided care to neonatal intensive care babies and helped train medical students, residents, and fellows. Also at Stanford, he conducts research into ways to big data and machine learning can detect potential problems with and so advance the care of extremely premature infants.
In addition, Dr. Michael Scahill has concurrently worked as vice president of medical affairs at Vida Health since 2019. He puts his expertise to work enhancing clinical efficiency via machine learning and has designed core digital therapeutics for heart failure and diabetes.
