A neurosurgeon with nearly 20 years of medical experience, Dr. Michael Thomas currently practices at Sea Spine Orthopedic Institute in Plantation, Florida. Before his current practice, he served as chief neurosurgeon with Central Washington Neurosciences Clinic and for more than 15 years affiliated with nearby Yakima Valley Memorial Hospital, where for two years he served as chairman of its surgery department. Dr. Michael Thomas takes a particular interest in the cerebral vascular system and in the surgical treatment of brain tumors.

Dr. Thomas worked as a surgical scrub technician at Golden Valley Memorial Hospital during the summers between his undergraduate years at William Jewell College in Missouri. After graduating, he attended Oklahoma State University’s College of Osteopathic Medicine and Surgery, where he completed advanced surgical training at Tulsa Regional Medical Center and Long Island Jewish Medical Center.

Outside of work, Dr. Thomas enjoys outdoor hobbies such as rock and glacier climbing as well as bow hunting, fly fishing, and golf. In addition to his neurosurgery practice, he lectures on neurosurgical practice at Pacific Northwest University of Health Sciences and the University of Washington.
