Michelle Huzella

Dr. Michelle Huzella serves as an ophthalmologist with Maryland Vision Institute, to which she brings a passion for patient care. She comes to her current position following service at Southern Maryland Ophthalmology, through which she opened the high-end Breton Bay Optical Shop. Dr. Michelle Huzella arrived in Maryland following a successful early career in New York where she cared for patients at Brooklyn Medical Group, the Brookdale University Hospital and Medical Center, and Wyckoff Heights Medical Center.
Dr. Michelle Huzella earned her doctor of medicine from the State University of New York at Buffalo, where she graduated magna cum laude from the School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences. She completed her residency at Brookdale Hospital, during which time she took additional training at such institutions as the New York Eye and Ear Infirmary and the Armed Forces Institute of Pathology.
Dr. Huzella stands out as a recipient of the American Medical Women's Association Janet Glasgow Citation for Scholastic Achievement and the Frieda W. Trust Scholarship for Proficiency and Dedication to the Field of Ophthalmology. Also honored as Outstanding First Year Resident in ophthalmology at Brookdale Hospital, she went on to earn the title of chief resident.
