Dr. Miguel Gallegos

A 1992 graduate of the University of New Mexico School of Medicine, Dr. Miguel Gallegos performed his general surgery residency at the University of Texas Medical School at Houston. Dr. Gallegos followed this training with a fellowship in advanced microsurgery at the St. Joseph Microsurgery Training Center in Houston. Dr. Miguel Gallegos then went to Chicago to pursue a residency in plastic surgery at Northwestern Memorial Hospital, the teaching hospital of the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine. In 1999, Dr. Miguel Gallegos returned to New Mexico to start his career as a cosmetic surgeon by opening Hermosa Plastic Surgery. As a young surgeon just starting his private practice, Dr. Gallegos also worked extra shifts in the emergency rooms of local hospitals performing microsurgical procedures like nerve and vascular reconstruction. Today, Dr. Miguel Gallegos treats children, adults, and seniors in the Albuquerque, Santa Fe, and Southern New Mexico areas. Offering surgical and nonsurgical cosmetic techniques, Dr. Miguel Gallegos strives to make his patients more secure about themselves by utilizing his training, education, and experience in cosmetic and microsurgical procedures. Dr. Miguel Gallegos prides himself on achieving transformations for a wide range of patients, performing rhinoplasty, ultrasonic liposuction, BOTOX injections, chemical peels, and breast and buttock augmentation, among other treatments. Dr. Miguel Gallegos maintains privileges at several hospitals in New Mexico, including Presbyterian Kaseman Hospital, the Lovelace Health System, Roswell Regional Hospital, and the Albuquerque Center for Plastic Surgery. To remain current in his field, Dr. Miguel Gallegos belongs to several cosmetic surgery associations, including the BOTOX Cosmetic Physicians’ Network, the Greater Albuquerque Medical Association, and the New Mexico Medical Society. He is also a board member and past President of the La Tierra Sagrada Society, an organization that issues community grants and scholarships to medical students. When not running his state-of-the-art surgical center, Dr. Miguel Gallegos supports a wide range of charitable causes, such as the Young America Football League, All Faiths Receiving Home, and the Northern New Mexico Chapter of Safari Club International, where he serves on the Board of Directors.
