Dr Henry Kasonde Musoma

Dr Kasonde Musoma was thrust into the global limelight when a video of him babysitting his student’s 10-month-old son while delivering a lecture went viral and landed him on The Ellen Show. He has since been referred to as “the Professor of Kindness” and his actions sparked a national and global conversation on the power of kindness and humanity in human relationships. Born and raised in Zambia, a country in Central Africa, Dr Musoma was privileged to grow up in a family and community in which kindness and humanity were values ingrained deeply in his culture. These values travelled in him when he relocated to the United States, and remain alive in him today. In 2017, Dr Musoma was honoured to be chosen as the face of the Texas A&M University value of “Leadership” in recognition of his commitment and contributions to uplifting students beyond his teaching activities and driving positive societal impact.
Dr Musoma holds a Doctorate in Education, Leadership and Administration. He is an award-winning educator, who has previously worked at his alma maters Texas A&M (Mays Business School, George Bush School of Government and Public Service, Texas A&M Foundation, Academy for Future International Leaders, Department of Agricultural Education) and Texas Christian University (Neely School of Business). He is currently the Director of Leadership and Character Formation at Tec de Monterrey University in Mexico.
Dr Musoma’s teaching covers topics including Business and Ethics, Business and Customers, Business and Governments, Global Concerns, Ethical Decision Making and Conduct, and Difficult Dialogues. He is also renowned for putting together high-impact, leadership development programmes which feature international immersions that combine leadership and cultural intelligence development.
Dr Musoma is also a highly sought-after international keynote speaker and facilitator on topics including Kindness, Humanity (Ubuntu), Ethics, Conscious Leadership, Courageous Leadership, Identity, Legacy, Culture and Sustainability.
Dr Musoma has sat on several advisory boards including the Mays Business School International Business Association and the Latino Leaders of America. He is currently a board member of the Voom Foundation.
A dedicated father of four amazing children (rising leaders), Dr Musoma enjoys excursions in nature, reading, listening to music and traveling to new places to expand his knowledge and appreciation of cultural diversity.
