Formerly board certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, Dr. Naum Vaisman most recently served as chief of geriatric psychiatry at Methodist Hospital in New York City. Over the course of his nearly 60-year career, he also served as a clinical assistant professor in the Department of Psychiatry at SUNY/Downstate Medical Center, where he taught medical students, medical staff, and residents. In recognition of his professional accomplishments, Dr. Naum Vaisman received the Physician's Recognition Award from the American Medical Association.

A graduate of medical school at Chernovetsky State Medical Institute, Dr. Vaisman completed a residency in psychiatry in the Department of Psychiatry at Yale University School of Medicine and Roosevelt Hospital, as well as a postdoctoral fellowship at Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons. Earlier in his career, Naum Vaisman practiced as a general and geriatric psychiatrist in clinical psychiatric facilities in Leningrad and worked as an assistant professor at Second Leningrad Medical Institute. He also published numerous papers about organic brain syndromes and senile dementia.
