Her focus is on helping women with relational trauma, particularly neglect and misattunment from caregivers in childhood, as well as those with a history of single episode traumatic experiences.
As a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) with a doctorate in Clinical Counseling Psychology (PsyD), graduating with honors, a master’s in Applied Social Psychology, also graduating with honors, and a BA in Psychology and Early Childhood Development, Dr. Nikki brings over 25 years of experience in the field. She has devoted her career to helping individuals navigate anxiety and trauma’s most challenging moments with warmth, skill, and compassion.
Dr. Nikki has advanced experience in crisis intervention, traumatic stress, anxiety and specific phobias. She is a Board-Certified Expert (diplomate) in Traumatic Stress (BCETS), a distinction awarded by the Academy of Experts in Traumatic Stress, as well as a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP-l) via the International Association of Trauma Professionals, and a Certified Clinical Anxiety Treatment Professional (CCATP).
Drawing from decades of clinical work, Nikki integrates modern neuroscience and relational psychology with leading experiential therapeutic models including both the standard and Attachment-Focused EMDR protocols, the DeTur protocol (EMDR for urge reduction), Internal Family Systems (IFS), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) and Somatic Experiencing (SE). By creatively weaving these approaches together, with a focus on the neurobiology of trauma and anxiety, Dr. Diamond delivers truly customized care that helps rewire the anxious brain. She is passionate about helping clients connect to their inner resilience so they can shift from survival to growth, while her comprehensive and nurturing brain-body care philosophy goes beyond just symptom reduction. It gently helps clients look beneath the surface to address root causes, while in a safe space to achieve meaningful and lasting change.
Since founding Progressive Therapy Solutions, LLC in 2016, her private therapy practice, Nikki has worked with adults and couples throughout New Jersey, crafting tailor-made treatment plans, including EMDR intensives, that go beyond traditional talk therapy in order to meet each client’s unique needs and goals, as no two nervous systems are alike. This makes therapy more than just a weekly conversation, but a doorway for transformation.
Dr. Diamond is recognized as a “go to therapist” for trauma, anxiety, and phobia treatment, often receiving referrals from other practitioners for more specialized care. Likewise, Nikki is also regarded as a “therapist to the therapists,” as she is sought out by other clinicians for her expertise in these areas. Above all, regardless of the approach, Dr. Nikki believes it’s paramount to create a safe enough space for clients to speak freely and fearlessly— to be truly heard and seen, as healing can only happen when safety is present, allowing clients to grow and flourish into their authentic, Wise Adult Selves.
