Dr. Nicholas DeSimone began his professional life in the financial industry, where he achieved considerable success. Yet, despite his accomplishments, he felt a growing desire to do more personally meaningful work. This internal shift led him to make a major career change, leaving behind banking to enter the counseling and behavioral health field. It was a decision motivated by the belief that his efforts could have a more direct and lasting impact on people’s lives.

He began working as an addictions counselor, where he spent four years providing support to individuals working to overcome substance use disorders. Through this role, he developed a strong foundation in clinical practice and gained deeper insight into the emotional struggles that often accompany addiction. His dedication and leadership led to his promotion as Director of Substance Abuse Services at a private outpatient center. There, he began to think more broadly about how treatment could be improved to address the full spectrum of a person’s recovery needs.

In June 2017, he took a significant step by opening Lifetime Recovery in Mullica Hill, New Jersey. This outpatient center was designed to provide more than basic addiction treatment. It focused on a holistic approach, offering personalized care that considered recovery's emotional, psychological, and physical aspects. The goal was to help clients rebuild their lives and develop the tools needed for long-term well-being, not just short-term relief.

Nick DeSimone opened Renewed Light Mental Health in April 2021 in West Deptford, New Jersey, to further extend his reach. This second outpatient center was created to support individuals dealing with mental health challenges such as anxiety, depression, trauma, and grief. Like Lifetime Recovery, Renewed Light centers its approach around individualized care and holistic support. Each client is treated with respect and empathy, and the programs are structured to help people strengthen their inner resilience and move forward confidently.

His academic and professional qualifications underscore his commitment to ethical and effective care. He earned a Bachelor of Science from Rowan University and a Master of Science in Addiction Counseling from Grand Canyon University. He has held a license as a Clinical Alcohol and Drug Counselor since 2017 and became a Licensed Professional Counselor in 2022.
