Dr. Pamela Sherman
A member of The American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, the American Dental Society of Anesthesiology, and the Middle Atlantic Society of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons, Dr. Pamela Sherman serves as owner and founder of a private practice in Ellicott City, Maryland. A dedicated professional, Dr. Pamela Sherman pursued a comprehensive education and a wealth of research opportunities to become the experienced health care provider she remains today. After completing a Bachelor of Arts in Interdisciplinary Science at the University of South Florida in Tampa, Dr. Pamela Sherman enrolled at the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine and obtained her DMD. Seeking to supplement her training with field experience, Dr. Pamela Sherman accepted a year-long residency in general dental practice at Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center (formerly Francis Scott Key Medical Center) in Baltimore, Maryland. Dr. Pamela Sherman then embarked on a four-year residency in oral and maxillofacial surgery at the University of Maryland Hospital and Dental School in Baltimore and emerged with certification as a specialist. Passionate about contributing to the field of dentistry through both practice and research, Dr. Pamela Sherman has spoken at a number of professional events. Past presentations include Effects of Sterilization on Bone Implants at the American Association for Dental Research Annual Meeting in Washington, D.C.; Bone Implant Behavior and Effects of Gamma Radiation and Ethylene Oxide Sterilization at the American Association of Tissue Banks Seminar on Tissue Banking Issues of Today in Crystal City, Virginia; and Implant Reconstruction: Bone Implant Sterilization – Ethylene Oxide vs. Cobalt 60 Irradiation at the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons 7th Annual Meeting in Boston, Massachusetts. While training at the University of Maryland Hospital, Dr. Pamela Sherman gained additional expertise through clinical rotations at the University of Maryland R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center. In her free time, she enjoys running, horseback riding, and reading.
