Paul Rogers

Doha, Qatar

I am currently the Managing Director of Qatar Skills Academy. I have over 30 years’ experience in the Gulf having worked as Academic and Programmes Director, Principle, Curriculum Developer, Trainer, and in Quality Assurance. I have worked with numerous academic institutes, colleges and universities, locally and internationally, over the years as well as corporate organisations.
I have immense experience of education but more importantly I have succeeded in turning this experience into a tool that helps both individuals and businesses maximize their learning and practical knowledge. By using vocational training, I blend education and work skills to enable people to reach their aims and objectives, whether it is for personal development or to enhance business performance.
A graduate of Bristol University, I took a Master of Science degree from Aston in the 1980s and have retained close contacts with the university ever since, having written and delivered several teacher training programmes for them over the years. I completed my doctorate in 1993 and was made a Fellow of the College of Teachers and a Fellow of the Institute of Learning in 2007 and 2008 respectively.
I have worked extensively in both the private and public sectors and my past regional appointments include senior posts with British Aerospace, the Higher Colleges of Technology in the UAE, Southampton and Leeds Universities and the London Chamber of Commerce and Industry as their Regional Business Manager. My previous appointment was as a senior advisor in Education and Training with Saudi ARAMCO in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia.
I was made a Fellow of the Institute of Leadership and Management in April 2013.
