Rajat is a student of Running & Pain, and militant advocate of GOYA (Get Off Your Arse).

He has been running for last 33 years and in his spare time is a doctor specializing in Sports-Exercise Medicine and non-surgical management of Musculo-Skeletal pain.

Since 2008, he has been heading his own venture called Back 2 Fitness, a musculo-skeletal (aches & pains) and sports-exercise medicine (performance enhancement to injury management) centre. The intention is to help everyone to reach their optimum levels by doing justice to their bodies. He is now Associate Editor at British Journal of Sports Medicine. He is also the founder of La Ultra - The High, world's cruelest & highest ultra marathon - 333 km in Leh.

He loves to turn conventional wisdom on its head, esp. in sickness (aka healthcare) industry. But all of what he says is backed up with scientific evidence. He's able to reach out to the masses through his columns for Mint newspaper and blogs for Forbes India magazine.

He was elect-Chairperson for World Congress of Science & Medicine in Cricket, that was to be held just before the 2011 Cricket World Cup in the sub-continent, but decided to quit. He previously headed London centre of Kieser Training, a Swiss-German chain of rehabilitation centres which specialize in Medical Strength Training. He moved to India in 2006 to set-up Sports & Exercise Medicine department at Manipal Hospital, Bangalore. In 2009, along with a running buddy, he founded Runners High in Bangalore, a running institute with the belief and intention that everyone can do more.
