Dr. Randy Heysek

A board-certified radiation oncologist with more than 25 years of experience, Dr. Randy Heysek maintains an extensive network of professional affiliations within the medical community. Dr. Heysek maintains membership in the American Society for Radiation Oncology as well as the Polk County Medical Association, for which he has served as Chairman of the Young Physicians Section, Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Secretary/Treasurer, and President. Dr. Randy Heysek is also a former member of the American College of Radiation Oncology, a past Delegate to the Florida Medical Association, and the former Secretary and Treasurer for Lakeland Regional Medical Center Medical Staff. Dr. Heysek previously sat on the Board of Directors for the American Cancer Society, Inc., and served as President of Region 6 for the Florida Independent Physicians Association.

A 1984 graduate of the University of Florida College of Medicine, Dr. Randy Heysek is certified in Advanced Cardiac Life Support since 1985 and recognized as an Expert Witness Healthcare Agent since 2002. Over the years, Dr. Heysek has held many authoritative roles within a number of clinics and medical facilities. Dr. Heysek worked as Chief of Service in Radiation Oncology at the Lakeland Regional Medical Center for more than 10 years and now serves as Co-Director of the Plant City Cancer Treatment Center and Medical Director and CEO of the Central Florida Cancer Institute.

Dr. Randy Heysek also works as a Physician in the Radiation Oncology Program for the H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center & Research Institute in Tampa, Florida. He has also taught as a faculty member since 2001, and mentored students in the hospital’s Graduate Medical Education Department since 2009. Dr. Heysek’s medical lectures have included topics such as bladder surgery in comparison to conservation of the bladder as well as sarcoma, a strain of cancer that arises in the bone or tissue.
