Dr. Richard Nachwalter
Dr. Richard Nachwalter is presently an Orthopaedic Spine Surgeon with Atlantic Spine Specialists in Morristown, New Jersey, providing both noninvasive and surgical treatments for patients with spinal pathology. Dr. Richard Nachwalter has professional appointments at several New Jersey medical facilities, including Morristown Medical Center in Morristown, Overlook Medical Center in Summit, and Saint Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston.
Dr. Richard Nachwalter earned a Bachelor of Science from the State University of New York at Binghamton, graduating with honors in 1990. He then attended the University of Pittsburgh's School of Medicine and earned his Doctor of Medicine in 1994. After interning with the State University of New York at Stony Brook's Department of Surgery, Dr. Nachwalter completed his residency in Orthopaedic Surgery at the same institution. He followed his residency with a fellowship in Spinal Trauma and Reconstructive Spinal Surgery at Philadelphia's Thomas Jefferson University Hospital, which is the Delaware Valley's regional center for spinal injuries. He completed his fellowship in 2000.
During his medical training, Dr. Richard Nachwalter was awarded Summer Research Stipends from the University of Pittsburgh in 1991 and 1992, and he was named Administrative Chief Resident at the State University of New York at Stony Brook from July 1998 to June 1999.
Committed to staying active in his professional community, Dr. Richard Nachwalter maintains memberships with the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, The North American Spine Society, the New Jersey Medical Society, and the New Jersey Orthopaedic Society. In addition to writing numerous peer-reviewed articles for scholarly journals and several chapters for spinal surgery textbooks, he regularly lectures and teaches at professional conferences and workshops.
