Richard F Selden, MD, PhD is the Founder, Chairman, and Chief Scientific Officer of NetBio. Prior to NetBio, he spent over fifteen years as a leader in biotechnology and has been publicly recognized for his significant contributions to the industry.

At NetBio, Dr. Selden focuses on moving DNA analysis from laboratories to the field. He has identified the obstacles in conventional forensic DNA identification and dedicated his career to simplifying and streamlining the process for both technical and non-technical users.

Dr. Selden has been a visionary and pioneer in the development of Rapid DNA technology (a term which he coined) and the validation testing of the ANDE (Accelerated Nuclear DNA Equipment) Rapid DNA Analysis System (formerly branded as DNAscan for law enforcement applications).

Dr. Selden is an author on over 35 scientific publications and an inventor on over 40 US patents. He received his BA degree from Harvard College, MA and PhD degrees in Genetics from the Harvard Graduate School of Arts and Sciences, and MD from Harvard Medical School. He trained as a pediatrician at the Massachusetts General Hospital.
