Dr. Robert Crawford

A private practice surgeon based in Atlanta, Robert Crawford, MD, is a fellow with the American College of Surgeons and a member of professional organizations such as the Society of Critical Care Medicine and the Society for Vascular Surgery. In addition to leading his private practice, Dr. Robert Crawford serves as a critical care specialist and conducts research that informs the development of innovative vascular devices.

Dr. Robert Crawford holds a bachelor of arts in molecular and cell biology from the University of California, Berkeley, where he conducted research on the structural biology of 7-transmembrane receptors, and an MD from the Medical College of Virginia. He then completed a residency at Wayne State University, followed by additional training at Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard Medical School, where he was a surgical critical care fellow and a research and clinical fellow in vascular and endovascular surgery.

The author or co-author of more than 100 books chapters and peer-reviewed articles, he has earned professional accolades including the Deterling Award for best overall paper and the Charles Johnston Award for best clinical paper.
