Dr. Roey Pasternak, M.D. is a child, adolescent and adult psychiatrist currently practicing in Manhattan, New York. He is Board certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and licensed to practice in the State of New York. Dr. Roey Pasternak incorporates psychopharmacological, psycho-dynamic, cognitive behavioral and supportive therapies, tailoring his approach to meet the specific needs of each client.
Pasternak graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Human Development from Cornell University with a concentration in adolescent growth and development. He earned his Doctor of Medicine from the Sackler School of Medicine of Tel Aviv University, Israel and completed his residency in Adult Psychiatry at the Beth Israel Medical Center University Hospital and Manhattan campus for the Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Pasternak further specialized in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at the Hofstra North Shore-LIJ School of Medicine.
Dr. Pasternak is an active member of many national and international organization including the American Psychiatric Association and the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (AACAP) and the American Psychiatric Association. Pasternak participated in AACAP's Child Advocacy Day on Capitol Hill, meeting with staffers of both local congressmen and congresswomen as well of Senator Charles Schumer. For his committed work, Pasternak was honored with the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Educational Award at the 2011 AACAP Meeting in Toronto, Canada.
In addition to his private practice, Dr. Pasternak engages with current research in the field and has experience working as a Research Associate at the Nathan S. Klein Institute for Psychiatric Research with world renown researcher Dr. Javitt. Pasternak's contributions and work have been published in the following journal articles.
