I am a scientist and for the past few years my work has been focused on developing the materials and processes to enable the manufacture of printed solar cells. Unlike traditional, silicon-based solar cells, the cells we're developing will be thin, light-weight and made using existing printing processes. The links at the bottom of this page are to various videos and interviews where I describe our work.
In April 2014 I went to India to work on a project with Pollinate Energy. Pollinate Energy is a social business that is using a community-based model to provide sustainable lighting and cooking appliances to the urban poor in India.
I was able to fund this project via a page on the crowdfunding site, Pozible.
I devised a list of rewards to suit every budget and was amazed and truly flattered to rapidly raise $3890, a figure that exceeded my target. Now that I've finished the project, I'm in the process of delivering the rewards.
