I am Dr. Shama Kovale, an experienced ENT Specialist in Mumbai with a special interest in voice and swallowing disorders. With over 20 years of clinical experience, my journey in ENT began after completing my post-graduation from the prestigious B.Y.L. Nair Hospital. Over the years, I have had the opportunity to work with reputed institutions including A.J.B. ENT Hospital, Hinduja Hospital, and Bhagwati Hospital, which helped me build a strong foundation in comprehensive ENT care.
My passion for voice and swallowing care led me to pursue advanced training internationally and within India. I completed a fellowship in Cochlear Implantation under some of the finest experts in the country and further honed my skills in voice and swallowing disorders at U.C. Davis, California, U.S.A. I also completed a specialized fellowship in Voice and Swallowing at Bombay Hospital, awarded by the Association of Phonosurgeons of India.
I have been fortunate to share my knowledge through various peer-reviewed journal publications and have been honored with awards such as Best Doc Mumbai 2020 and Top Docs Mumbai (Voice) in 2019 and 2020 for my work in phonosurgery. As an invited faculty member, I have participated in several state and national ENT conferences, contributing to the academic growth of the field.
Currently, I am practicing as a Consultant ENT Voice and Swallowing Surgeon at Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital, Andheri, Mumbai. My clinical practice is driven by a commitment to provide compassionate, personalized, and evidence-based care to patients suffering from voice, airway, and swallowing conditions.
