The human body has fascinated me for over a decade. It is perhaps the most fantastic and intriguing machine on the earth, infinitely complex and remarkably effective. It evolved over millions of years and yet, it’s not perfect!
I’ve wanted to unmask the body’s secrets, reveal its intricacies and simplify its complexities. And this fascination has led me on a mission to help put knowledge of the body to work to help people finally get relief from pain and get them back in gear.
When you’ve got a life to live, pain and discomfort can bring things to a grinding halt. I’ve been there, I know what it’s like, and no one should have to live that.
A 40 Foot Fall and The Beginning of My Journey
I too know what’s it’s like to live in pain. When I was 19, I went mountain climbing. All was well until a crucial moment; my footing slipped and fell 40 feet. But the real nightmare started after the 18 hours in the hospital and 60 stitches.
I survived, but I was a mess. I had problems with my back and neck – I had to sit abnormally straight for hours on end. I had constant, chronic pain in my knee that made it hard to sit or walk. It was a torn ligament was torn and it didn’t seem to be getting any better. The worst part was I had to stop doing Tae Kwon Do, the sport I loved and adored.
I was a Second Dan black belt in Taw Kwon Do, Quebec champion for my age group and 3rd in all of Canada… and now I could barely move. I was in agony. I saw my dreams of being a great athlete shattered.
It would take a long time and a lot of effort for me to get back to normal. It’s sad to say, but trial and error was my only option.
What About Others In Pain?
Now, each day, when sufferers of chronic pain come to me, I know they feel disillusioned. They don’t want to be looking for yet another solution. They don’t want to try something and be disappointed. Who can blame them? But most of all, they just wish they didn’t have the problem at all. They wish it would just disappear. Can you blame them?
I’ve always had a deep yearning to help people free themselves of troubling problems and conditions and it was this that drove me to devote myself to practical and effective approaches to treating pain.
