Alvin Singh, M.D.

Dr. Alvin Singh has over 35 years of medical experience working in the United States. He is a skilled obstetrician - gynecologist and with special skills in laparoscopic surgery. A former U.S. military officer who served in Vietnam and Europe, Dr. Singh has traveled across the world providing health care to people in need. He was awarded military honors for his service as a Special Forces medic in a helicopter rescue division.

He has traveled to Haiti in 2003 and just days after the deadly earthquake in 2010. He was a part of a joint volunteer task force comprising of medical specialist from around the world. He has lectured at Meharry Medical College for over 30 years training medical students in obstetrics and gynecology.

In 2012 he traveled to Malawi with a group of doctors from the African Diaspora Health Initiative to assess the countries maternal health sector. He has also done medical missions in Liberia, Belize, Nigeria and Southeast Asia.

Born in New York City, Dr. Singh studied at Central State University and Meharry Medical College. He lives in Murfreesboro, TN and has three children. He enjoys horseback riding, photography and agriculture. He is also a lifetime member of the fraternity Omega Psi Phi.
