Dr. Stacy Smith

A board certified Interventional Cardiologist in Memphis, Tennessee, Dr. Stacy Smith currently serves patients at the Memphis Heart Clinic, P.L.C.'s Memphis location. Dr. Smith consults on cases of cardiovascular disease and issues related to cardiology. A respected member of the medical community, Dr. Smith contributes considerable time to educating women about heart health. She is a frequent guest lecturer on the topic, and volunteers with the American Heart Association. Dr. Stacy Smith maintains a specific interest in cardio-oncology, and focuses on patients suffering from heart disease who also receive treatment for cancer, or who are cancer survivors.

Dr. Stacy Smith developed an interest in medicine at a young age, and volunteered at several medical institutes while still a student in high school. After developing a strong background in biomedical research, she received her undergraduate degree cum laude from California's Claremont McKenna College. After she received her medical degree from the University of Southern California Keck School of Medicine in Los Angeles, she undertook an internship and residency in Internal Medicine at Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts, a partner of Harvard Medical School. Dr. Smith also earned the position of Chief Resident while working at Brockton VA Hospital in Brockton, Massachusetts. Dr. Stacy Smith continued her training with fellowships at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, Missouri, and Barnes-Jewish Hospital, where she undertook cardiology and interventional cardiology training. Dr. Smith also completed a research fellowship in immunology at the Washington University School of Medicine, which she conducted through a fellowship with the Howard Hughes Medical Institute. On completion of her training, Dr. Stacy Smith joined Washington University's faculty as an Assistant Professor of Medicine and Pathology, concentrating on clinical and interventional cardiology.

Today a trusted physician in the Memphis area, Dr. Stacy Smith also serves as a researcher in several international clinical trials. She maintains licenses to practice interventional cardiology in Tennessee and other states, and has privileges at Methodist Le Bonheur Germantown Hospital, the Baptist Memorial Health Care system hospitals in DeSoto and Memphis, and St. Francis Hospital-Memphis.
