Steven Weisblatt
For more than 20 years, Steven Weisblatt, MD has operated a successful psychiatric practice and consultation service. Since graduating from Yeshiva University’s Albert Einstein College of Medicine’s residency training program in Psychiatry and becoming board certified to practice psychiatry, Steven Weisblatt, MD has served as a consultant to mental health agencies in more than twenty states, including New York, Pennsylvania, and North Carolina. Because of the varied nature of the work these agencies perform, Dr. Weisblatt has consulted in many different environments, ranging from hospitals, medical schools and emergency rooms, to schools and the Pet Therapy Department of the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals in New York. He has also served as a psychiatric consultant to federal agencies, including the Human Rights Division of the Special Litigation Section of the U.S. Department of Justice and the Canadian Ministry of Health. For more than fifteen years, Steven Weisblatt, MD was on the psychiatry faculty at Albert Einstein College of Medicine in Bronx, New York and is currently on the psychiatric faculty of SUNY Downstate Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York. Dr. Weisblatt has gained recognition as a speaker on topics in psychiatry, making several television appearances on public television as an expert. His articles have been published in BP Magazine, The International Consensus Handbook on Pschopharmacoplogy and Current Opinion in Psychiatry. Steven Weisblatt, MD is licensed to practice medicine in New York and Pennsylvania and also holds a Drug Enforcement Agency in both states. He retains board certification from the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. Dr. Weisblatt is a member of the Child & Adolescent Bipolar Foundation, as well as the International Society for Bipolar Disorders.
