Dr. Steven Bauer

Dr. Steven Bauer is a family medicine doctor practicing in Charlotte, North Carolina. Since 2007, he has worked as an independent primary care provider and is approaching two decades of service in the Tar Heel State. During the COVID-19 pandemic, he and his team at Ballantyne Medical Associates were among the first outpatient offices in the area to provide REGEN-COV monoclonal antibody treatments to patients, delivering necessary care during a critical time.

He later completed two FDA clinical trials related to COVID-19 therapeutics and has led numerous other FDA-regulated studies. His clinical work also covers female bioidentical hormone replacement therapy, testosterone replacement therapy for both men and women, outpatient opioid use disorder treatment, and vascular endothelium care. Outside of medicine, he enjoys food, wine, and international travel. Since beginning his medical career in 1999, he has consistently volunteered his time to educational efforts and community causes.

At Ballantyne Medical Associates, which he founded and continues to manage, he leads a full-service primary care practice that provides aesthetic laser treatments, hormone therapy, and nutritional counseling. He and his team, consisting of over twenty healthcare professionals, prioritize close communication with patients and help them understand their healthcare needs. Dr. Steven Bauer Ballantyne completed his pre-medical studies at North Carolina State University before earning his medical degree from the New York Institute of Technology. He then completed his residency at Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center in New York, serving as Chief Resident. After residency, he practiced for nearly a decade in Long Island, managing a busy private practice, teaching future healthcare professionals, and serving as an HIV specialist at a county clinic.

He maintains active Good Clinical Practice certification and is a principal investigator for various FDA clinical trials. His affiliations include several universities nationwide, where he helps support medical education and training. He is an active member of professional organizations such as the North Carolina Medical Society, the American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians, and the American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine. His commitment to service extends to volunteering with the 10-13 Club of Charlotte.
