Dr. Susan R. Cero
Dedicated to her involvement in various organizations for medical professionals, Dr. Susan Cero works with the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons as a Fellow and holds membership in the Washington State Medical Association and the Ruth Jackson Orthopaedic Society. Beginning her medical career in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Dr. Susan Cero earned her M.D. from the medical school at Hahnemann University. A distinguished student, Dr. Cero was invited into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society.
Moving to Washington State, Dr. Susan Cero studied orthopedic medicine at the University of Washington and completed her residency in the University’s Department of Orthopedic Surgery. Dr. Cero was board certified, recieving the of Diplomate from the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery for the first time in 1995 and was recertified in 2005.
Currently affiliated with the Valley Medical Center in Renton, Washington, Dr. Susan Cero is the current President of Valley Orthopedic Associates. With more than 15 years of experience in her current role as Surgeon, Dr. Cero offers a comprehensive range of orthopedic care for her patients. Dr. Cero specializes intotal joint replacement, sports injuries and upper extremity surgery. With a broad background in addressing sports injuries, she also treats rotator cuff injuries, ACL tears, meniscus tears and performs hip and knee replacement.
Dr. Susan Cero believes that the patient plays a key role in his or her own care. Providing clear education, she ensures that all the patients she treats can make the best choices for their own good health. Dr. Susan Cero’s personal approach also allows patients to understands the course of treatment before surgery, reducing the anxiety that is common among people who have been injured or who are in pain.
Filling a role of executive leadership, Dr. Susan Cero serves as the Chairmanand/ President of the Proliance Surgeons’ Board of Directors, as well as the Vice President of the Board of Directors for the Valley Orthopedic Associates Ambulatory Surgery Center. Additionally, Dr. Susan Cero supports the Washington Policy Center through her work as a member of the Health Care Advisory Committee.
