I taught college (grad and undergrad) for ten years prior to having my daughter. I own a Christ-based Counseling and Life Coaching practice, Understanding Giftedness, LLC but am thinking about changing the name to something else….something catchy… It’ll come to me eventually. I have a gift for teaching. Thus, I love to do presentations and try to throw as much humor and fun into them as I can. I’ve presented to groups of 10 women to groups of 300+ parents. I’ve presented in home settings and in national and even international conferences. Regardless of the number of attendees or where it takes place, I always try to give my audience my best. I do have a Doctorate in Educational Psychology with a specialty in Intelligence, Creativity, and Giftedness from Texas A&M University (graduated under the name, Suzanne Carroll). I try to help the parents of creative, gifted, and talented children understand their children from an emotional/social perspective toward life. It helps with family dynamics and the child’s relationships so much to be understood.
My heart and 99% of my time goes toward Christ-based Counseling and Life coaching. I REALLY have a heart for helping hurting women who are either emerging adults (college aged) or grown women. I primarily focus on helping them with college life, depression, divorce, mood disorders, finding their calling, and (of course) parenting gifted children, etc…
I’m hardly ever politically correct. A LOT of people get upset with me for not being politically correct, but it’s my blog and I’ll write how I feel. My heart doesn’t have a “Politically correct” button or range of emotions. It just feels, and it feels strongly about things too. Conservatives think I’m liberal. Liberals think I’m conservative. I’m grateful that my Lord, Jesus, wasn’t a liberal or a conservative. He was and is just Jesus and that’s enough. That’s one of the MANY reasons why I follow Him. Please don’t call me a Christian. I prefer to be a Christ-follower.
