Dr Thomas Peterson Grand Forks, ND
A veteran psychiatry professional, Dr. Thomas Peterson brings nearly two decades of experience to his current position as a psychiatrist with the Center for Psychiatric Care, PC, in Grand Forks, ND. In addition to his work with the center, he serves as a psychiatrist with the The Stadter Center, a private mental health hospital serving the residents of Grand Forks, ND, and as a clinical professor of psychiatry at the University of North Dakota (UND). Throughout his career, Dr. Thomas Peterson has received awards for his professional efforts, including being named the Professional of the Year by the Mental Health Association in North Dakota in 2002.
Dr. Peterson earned a bachelor’s degrees in zoology from UND before going on to complete his medical degree and psychiatry residency at the UND School of Medicine & Health Sciences. A gifted musician, he also holds a bachelor’s degree in music theory and composition from UND and a master’s degree in choral conducting from Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, Texas.
An active member of the field, he stays abreast of the latest development in the psychiatry field through his involvement with professional groups such as the American Psychiatric Association and the North Dakota Psychiatric Society.
