Dr. Test earned his Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy with a minor in Russian in 1993 and a Master of Science in Rehabilitation Counseling in 1996 from Utah State University. He attended the University of Nebraska-Lincoln concurrently with Templeton University ending up with a Ph.D. in Rehabilitation Counseling/Counseling Psychology in 1999. He spent many years in the private and public sector and worked with many state, federal, and tribal agencies on issues such as psychosocial and cultural aspects of disabilities and reintegration and acceptance into the mainstream utilizing the least restrictive environment.
His interests grew to the area of neuropsychology and psychoneuroimmunology. He has taken over 40 Post-Doctoral credits in Health Psychology/Behavioral Medicine at Northcentral University. Additionally, he attended the Graduate Professional Life Care Planning Certification program at Capital University Law School.
He has taught for numerous colleges and schools over the years and encompasses both on-ground and online classrooms. His teaching experience includes graduate level Adolescent Psychology and Human Growth and Development at Lindenwood University in St. Charles, MO, Counseling classes for the Rehabilitation Counseling Program at Utah State University, and Higher Education classes at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. He has taught Psychology, Ethics, and Logic at National College, online classes for Everest University Online Division, and Health Pscyhology and Social Psychology for McDaniel College. He currently teaches Graduate level Diversity, Statistics, Advanced Tests and Measurements, and History of Psychology classes at The University of the Rockies, and Intro to Pscyhology at Mount St. Mary's Univeristy.
In addition to teaching, he has clinical practice specializing in Co-occuring Disorders, Substance Abuse, PTSD, Anxiety, Stress, and Disability Management. He has a solid knowledge of counseling skills, management, and administrative functions. Some of his current research interests include Mindfulness and Psychoneuroimmunology.
