Alan Tauber is a gifted percussionist, musician, facilitator and educator who has spent over 50 years sharing his passion for drumming and healing with the community. He has taught West African, Haitian, and Cuban percussion to thousands of students. He has also taught spiritual and meditative practices since 1977.

Over the years Alan has specialized in West African music of the Djembe and Dunun drums, studying and performing with Master Drummers such as the grand master Mamady Keita, Ibrahima Camara, Bolokada Conde, Babatunde Olatunji, Nansady Keita, Koungbana Condé, Mamady ‘Wadaba’ Kourouma, Fadouba Oulare and Sayon Camara. Famoudou Konaté has been Alan’s master for the last 20 years.

Trained in many healing forms as well as magic and often called upon by the medical community for advice and direct interaction with patients, Alan has the knowledge and experience and sensitivity of a wise elder of the community.
