Teacher Professional development facilitator in Brunei Darussalam
I am a Special Grade Education Officer with the Ministry of Education, Brunei Darussalam.
I design, conduct and evaluate teacher professional development courses at the Brunei Darussalam Leadership and Teacher Academy (BDLTA). My special area is in the field of lesson study and learning study.
I am active in research. My latest research focuses on how middle leaders view lesson study and how lesson study affects their instructional leadership. My latest paper was published in the Asia Pacific Journal of Education in 2022.
Before joining BDLTA, I was a school leader in both the state and private sectors. I taught Economics for many years. Since 2017 I have been invited to mark Economics A-level for a major UK examination board.
I have reviewed for The International Journal for Lesson and Learning Studies and for the annual Teachers’ Day Conference in Brunei.
I was awarded Special Mention by the Ministry of Education for the teaching of Economics in 2010. The Brunei Government bestowed on me the Pingat Indah Kerja Baik (PIKB) medal in 2006.
