Dr. William Boothe has successfully completed more than 99,000 LASIK laser vision correction procedures. He has also performed more VISX Custom 3-Dimensional Wavefront Customized laser vision correction procedures than any other surgeons in the world. As a result he was named the VISX Surgeon of the Year in 1999.

Dr. William Boothe Has An Outstanding Background

His strong educational and training background has contributed to the success he enjoys today. He served as a resident for the Department of Ophthalmology of the Texas Tech University Health Science Center. Following this he had a fellowship in the Cornea-External Disease Division of the Jules Stein Eye Institute at the University of California at Los Angeles Medical Center.

Interestingly, before choosing his specialty of ophthalmology he worked as an emergency room physician. This was followed by becoming the director of the Plano Emergency Center and the director of the Angelo Association Emergency Center in San Angelo, Texas.

He believes it is vitally important to maintain the latest in technology and understanding as well as to maintain memberships in numerous organizations to keep him abreast of the latest breakthroughs in his profession. He is a member of The American Medical Association, The Texas Medical Association, The American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, and The Texas Ophthalmological Association, to name a few.

He and his family also participate in a number of community projects including the Casa Manana and A Taste of Arlington. He supports the Heart of Gold Foundation, the YMCA of Arlington as well as the Colleyville Lions Club.
