Dr. Yasser Awaad, a board certified pediatric neurologist, supports the Beaumont Healthcare System of Royal Oak, Michigan, in his capacity as an academic curriculum and program development consultant. Complementing his advisory role, he teaches up-and-coming specialists through Ain-Shams University, where he serves as a visiting professor in the Pediatrics and Neurology Departments. Dr. Yasser Awaad’s academic background also includes time as associate clinical professor of pediatrics at the University of Michigan and as assistant professor of neurology at Wayne State University.

A provider active in the broader medical field, Dr. Awaad sits on the editorial boards of several peer-reviewed outlets, including the Journal of Pediatric Neurology, Pediatric Biochemistry. Moreover, he has co-authored original studies that have appeared in such publications as the Journal of Pediatric Neurology, Journal of Movement Disorders,and the Journal of Taibah University Medical Sciences.

For rest and relaxation, Dr. Yasser Awaad enjoys listening to classical music and traveling abroad, having visited roughly 40 countries. In the past, he competed on the international stage as a volley ball athlete with the Egyptian Olympic and National team.
