One the main things that really irritates me is being in the dark or having a lack of knowledge. Consequently, one of my quirks is a great desire for knowledge; to understand the world around me. However, our greatest source of knowledge is not the internet, the encyclopedia, the dictionary, or a professor of any given topic, but the Book that reveals the mind of God; the Bible.
God’s word has kept me out of the dark, a light in solving life’s problems, and it has guided me in my marriage to my wonderful wife of 33 years, Loretta, and in raising our wonderful two sons, Adam and Colin.
Since Novmember of 2007 I have been the minister of the Coldwater Church of Christ in Coldwater, MI. Ministering to people has been my life’s work in various forms, but preaching and teaching the gospel has been a tremendously uplifting experience. In addition to being a minister, I have also been teaching school children for the last 18 years, which has really kept me young in spirit.
I decided to start a blog entitled “A Lamp Unto My Feet", which illustrates my thoughts on God guiding words in my life. Every facet of my life is guided by the words of God and Jesus, and I hope to share a few words of encouragement with my blog as well as spark some discussion, as I am still learning the great wealth of insight the scriptures have to offer concerning the human experience. We are all on life’s journey, and on whatever road I find myself, God’s word has been, and will continue to be, a lamp unto my path: Psalms 119:105.
