Donald Smith

Mogadore, OH , USA

I'm a retired high school principal, superintendent and university instructor. Since 2002, I've authored seven books on travel, poetry, religion and education..

They are entitled: "When the Muses Came To Call," "Travel and the Human Condition," "Ducks, Yaks, Camels and the Vast Mongolian Sky, Oh, My, !" "Cuba - One Mojito at a Time," "The Hopeful Agnostic - What I Believe, I Guess." and "Mr. Smith Goes To School and stays and stays and stays.""Thinking Sideways - short stories both real and imaginary.

They are available at Amazon, Barnes & Noble and our local library system.

Beginning in 1970, I've traveled to 52 countries. I volunteer with Global Volunteers and teach English while overseas. At home, I work as a standardized patient at area medical schools. I role-play different medical scenarios and evaluate the student doctors as to how I felt as a patient.

I, also, volunteer with the Ohio Agency On Aging as a long-term care ombudsman.

I have been married 64 years and and have five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

I sing in our church choir and enjoy reading, writing, golf, music and working out in the local spa and natatorium.

I am still striving, still learning and trying not to be a crotchety old man. The world is a wonderful place. I hope to be here long enough to see it become even more wonderful.. It will, you know. Even with all of the problems and troubles, I continue to be amazed and inspired by what man has accomplished. I envy those who will live in the far distant future.
