Imagine living in a world where nothing works as you plan: Coffee is a constant accessory on your collar. Scuffs are the only "swoosh" on your shoes. Good intentions get twisted and wrong paths get followed. Once blue window frames rust from their original blue.
Then stop imagining and start thinking how you see.
Those windows still shelter. Those mistakes still breed wisdom. Those swooshes mark journeys. And those tenacious brown splotches are what get you through each morning when you didn't know what to do.
With injustice abroad and social disparity in America's backyard, the treck to equal opportunity can seem daunting. The journey may even be unending. Personal trials and poitical conflicts can send people to isolation like a bear in the coldest of winters. Positive thinking may not solve everything, but when our trials are the closest bond between us, we could all do with a little more Vitamin D.
