DeVonne Parks

DeVonne Parks was director, conferences and events for Intermodal Association of North America. Her work included directing and executing all details related to the logistics and operations of all Association conferences and events, both physical and virtual, and for the overall planning of the organization’s meetings and events. Prior to joining IANA, DeVonne was with the Special Libraries Association (SLA) for 10 ½ years as the director of exhibits and later promoted to director of exhibits and conference operations. Her work includes exhibit and sponsorship sales, and as well as marketing, coordinating, and promoting the annual conference. DeVonne also served as a liaison to all SLA conference planning committees each year. Before joining SLA in 2001, she worked as a conference planner/exhibit manager, overseeing 50 plus conferences a year throughout America for the federal government. Prior to that, she worked at Smith Bucklin & Associates coordinating and organizing several annual meetings for different associations. DeVonne has been a member of the International Association of Exhibitions and Events (IAEE) since 2004, from which she received her certification in exhibition management in 2006. DeVonne is a member of the Professional Convention Management Association (PCMA), as well as a member of the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE) in which she received the business of meetings certificate. DeVonne is the 2012 Chair of the IAEE Washington, D.C. Chapter Board, and volunteers on various other industry organization committees such as PCMA (Co-Chair Membership Services), CEIR, and ASAE. DeVonne received her bachelor’s degree in business communications technology from Cedarville University in Ohio. DeVonne is working toward her certification in meeting planning (CMP). DeVonne is widowed and now her time is devoted to her best friend, my dog, Bruno.
