Hello. Welcome to the biography of Duacee (do-wah-see). Duacee is a native to Boulder, Colorado. She is first generation Hmong American. The name Duacee, translates to "bright or shining picture" in the Hmong language. Hmong is her native language, and English is her primary.

As a first generation student, life has thrown many curve balls her way, but she has managed to remain positive about her aspirations. In her childhood and adolescent years, school was not always a breeze due to bilangual stuggles. She graduated from the University of Colorado Denver with her Bachelor of Science in Psychology and an emphasis in biology. Although she had an amazing undergraduate education, her passion lies in healthcare, business, marketing, fashion, floral design, inventions, the wedding industry and the list goes on. Her drive, creativity, hunger for details and struggles have led her through many experiences.

Highlighting an important key factor that held her from pursuing her dreams is related to her Asian heritage.

"It is uncommon and shamed on to pursue a career outside of the stereotypical job fields that first generation parents want their children to pursue such as lawyer, doctor, professor with a PhD and etc. But again, I remind myself, it is understandable why they want to see their daughter pursue one of these professions because they were never given the opportunity" says Duacee.

Duacee has always been a creative and crafty individual throughout grade school and up to her adult years. Once she graduated from college she realized that all along, her scrapbooking, bedroom wall photos, magazine collections and etc. all had one thing in common: weddings and fashion! She is fascinated by the beauty of flowers, the vibrance and emotions of colors, effortless patterns and design. The wedding industry vastly expanded her attention toward fashion, fabrics, floral designing, DIY projects, food and dessert inspirations and it has yet to end there.

Despite her hobbies and passion, she holds a very keen eye for healthcare. She studied Psychology in her undergrad and finally pursued working with Alzhiemer seniors in 2013. She worked as a care giver/CNA, and a qualified QMAP where she administered medications to senior residents. This was a great jump start into healthcare for her! On a daily basis she worked side by side with medical professionals - which has peaked her interest in Nursing.
