Duane E. Decker

I grew up in Croswell Michigan on a family farm that dated back to 1852, I moved to the suburbs of Detroit at the age of 19 to find a job. I started working in cable TV as a subcontractor to install cable in the Detroit and in Miami Florida areas. A year later I was hired by a cable company in Grosse Pointe MI. in October of 1982, I moved up and around to different cities surounding Detroit, I finally ended up in Westland MI. I got married in 1990, my wife and I had 3 girls by 1996 they are Alexandrea, Danielle and Alison three beautiful girls who are my life, I unfortunately divorced my wife Tina in 2000. At work after company buy outs I was working for Comcast in Westland after 7 years. I then was contacted by a cable system at Shreveport Louisiana needing a Technical Manager and was soon to be a Comcast owned system, so after excepting that job I moved there in May of 2006. My new team and I improved this system after many years of neglect but after many long hours each week we got it up to Comcast standards and had more upgrades yet to complete. I found out in October of 2013 after 31 years with this company I was told my job was to be eliminated. I was upset after applying for multiple openings at Comcast during this notice but never recieved a single call back which after the years of being a dedicated employee hurt, but I will try to find something soon hopefully. I do pray each day for direction. I have now moved to my hometown - Lexington, Michigan and also purchased a beautiful home 5 blocks from the beach of Lake Huron. I thank God on how thankful I am being in my current situation now. I have added a picture of my new house I bought in Lexington Michigan, I love it!
