MY name is Boitumelo Mhlongo and i’m a 3rd year Bachelor of Education (Senior and FET Phase) student at the University of Johannesburg in South Africa. My areas of speciality are Business Management and School Guidance and Support. University of Johannesburg embraces the diverse cultures that are found in South Africa and it has been voted amongst the top 10 Universities in the world. I chose the teaching profession because of my love for children and my passion for making a difference in people’s lives. Children are our future and we need to help them in discovering their unique talents and nurturing their development. One of the purpose of School Guidance in Schools is to provide support to learners experiencing barriers to learning. My passion really lies in providing this support to learners who experiencing a learning barrier, be it social, physical or mental. I’m also passionate about Business Management which gives me a platform to teach Business Studies in schools. South Africa is still a developing country and we need to develop and nurture young Entrepreneurs in order to provide them with basic business skills that will help them pursue a career in the World of Business and make a difference in our economy. When i’m not in the classroom teaching or attending lectures, I enjoy spending with my family. I enjoy the outdoors which includes participating in sporting activities such as swimming, playing tennis and volleyball. I also enjoy reading cooking and baking.
