Sequels are a sign of success and popularity, as we've seen in games, film, and other forms of entertainment. Sales figures indicate that gamers become attached to games and want to continue their experience via sequels and expansion packs.
Sequels are important in sports games because they allow us to update rosters, stadiums, uniforms, etc., as well as enhance the gameplay experience on an annual basis.
It's important to remember that EA publishes sequels when it makes business sense to do so, but we also release an impressive share of all-new original games on a regular basis. Some recent and upcoming examples include Dead Space, Boogie, Smarty Pants, Spore, Crysis, Mirror's Edge, and Army of Two, to name just a few.
