DUNCAN AMPOFO OFFEI
Student, Social Media Manager, and Writer in Ghana
From Martin Luther King to Mother Theresa, these were people that did not fit the mould that their titles often created for them. One thing that is common among most meaningful people in this world is their dynamism. I believe my greatest assets are my creativity and versatility; that I am able to create ideas that can be put into action in order to address issues that perpetuate social inequality. With about five years of experience in education, volunteerism, youth development, Agriculture policy development and media/communications, I believe I am better positioned to use my creativity to be an agent of change and spread messages and ideas that can be the catalyst for change. My skills in everything from blogging and media/broadcast journalism to volunteering have contributed to my ability to create tools and products that can be harnessed positively to influence in the diverse facet of society.
Through personal and professional efforts, I have developed strong written and oral communication skills from my time as a voluntary teacher and through my undergraduate course work, where I co-run about three union websites, worked as a student journalist and editor to being a student leader. I currently manage two blogs, one of which enshrines my thoughts and interests in Agricultural development, growth and policy analysis as it relates to developing nations, especially Ghana.
I am interested in pursuing opportunities in Corporate Social Responsibility, Agricultural Economic Policy and Livelihood Development, Climate Change Advocacy and ICT solutions for organisations. I am more than elated to bring together my creativity and technical knowledge in Agriculture and ICT to harness potentials while creating wealth.
