Duncan Ian Gates

Fenlander by birth, he has lived in Cornwall, Granada, Guatemala, Montreal and Valencia. The study of politics and then law at York, Bristol and Madrid was more often than not displaced by research into medieval history and Northern European and Scandinavian myths and legends. Following backpacking in the Americas and a brief lawyerly spell in England, he had a spell as a TEFL teacher and then as a legal translator/university lecturer in Spain. ‘Revenants’, his first novella, was published on the eve of 2014, and 'Witch of the Fall', a novel, in 2015. He is married to the wonderful Sophie from Aberdeen.
