In 2000, I moved to Serbia to establish the Next Stop Serbia peace activism campaign, which was aiming at breaking down stereotypes between Serbs and Danes. We promoted a blend of civic action and creativity by making people collaborate on personal levels. The experience became my point of departure for the work I have engaged in since.
Today, I have over 10 years of professional experience from developing, post-conflict and fragile countries. In particular, experience with East Africa, and an extensive network in the region where I have worked with capacity building and civic education of South Sudanese refugees in northern Uganda; support to peace building and training of media in South Sudan, and with communication and training in Tanzania and Kenya.
From July 2011 to present, I have worked independently with my own company where I have carried out various consultancies in Kenya, Tanzania, South Sudan and Denmark. Basically, I mix work as journalist, photographer, trainer and consultant.
From early September 2015 I'm attending the two-year postgraduate study programme leading - inshallah - to a Masters degree (cand. mag.) in African Studies at Centre forAfrican Studies in Copenhagen.
