What energizes me most is helping people turn their ideas into businesses. I love the process of sitting down to a coffee with an old friend, or a new acquaintance, and hammering out what it is they are passionate about, and how it is they intend to make a living doing it. SMEs revolve around hard work and ideas, and my goal is to inject both of those things into as many projects as I can.
Eventually I want to start or purchase a business that relies on the great outdoors. Owning and operating something like Wilderness Tours Rafting (on the Ottawa River, ON) or a retreat on a remote lake is my endgame. Having been raised on a large plot of land south of Ottawa, my desire to be outside is insatiable, and I plan on keeping it as an integral part of my lifestyle through both hobbies and work.
Upon graduating from Algonquin College-School of Business, I plan to continue working with local small business until I have built up enough capital to launch my outdoor-oriented project. Whether that takes five years or two decades, I plan to use that time to vastly expand both my resume and my network of contacts.
