Dušan Petrov

Dušan Petrov is currently a student of Sociology at the Faculty of Philosophy, the University of Belgrade. Dušan has been actively engaged in various programmes of the NGO sector and cooperated with a large number of Serbian NGOs since 2007. Dušan was previously the editor of a magazine for Polish diaspora, ‘Balkanska mozaika’. He completed elementary and advanced level at the School of Human Rights of the Helsinki Committee for Human Rights in Serbia, the School of Political Skills organized by the National Democratic Institute (NDI) and International Republican Institute (IRI), Summer European Academy organized by ASKO Europa-Stiftung, Konrad Adenauer Foundation, Fondation Charles Léopold Mayer and Europäische Akademie Otzenhausen, the educational programme "PolitiKAS" organized by Belgrade Open School and Konrad Adenauer Foundation, and has actively participated in many other conferences and seminars in Serbia and abroad. In 2010, he was a coordinator of the Youth Group of the Helsinki Committee for Human Rights in Belgrade, and was also engaged as a trainer on youth activism in workshops and schools on human rights. He took part in the development and realisation of a large number of projects within the sphere of his interests. From May 2011 to December 2013, Dušan was President of Young European Federalists - Serbia. In 2011 he was elected and is currently acting as Main Board Member at European Movement in Serbia. In 2013, Dušan was elected as President of New Party Youth Forum and presided over by July 2014. In 2012 and 2013, Dušan was awarded a Konrad Adenauer Stiftung's Scholarship for Socio-Politically Engaged and Talented Students. In the academic year of 2013/2014, Dušan received Award for the Best Sociology Student of the Generation at Faculty of Philosophy, the University of Belgrade. During the academic year of 2013/2014, Dušan was a student assistant on the course "Introduction to the Sociology of Music" at the Faculty of Philosophy, the University of Belgrade. Currently, he is a Library Assistant - Volunteer at the Library of Department of Sociology, Faculty of Philosophy, the University of Belgrade.
